Do you guys know what K-I-S-S is all about?
NO, NO, NO!!! It’s not what you’re thinking!
KISS is an acronym for ‘Keep it Straight and Simple’ i.e. K-I-S-S. Pretty simple – ha. So what does it really mean! (Nope, I did not make up that brilliant acronym. And I have no idea who did. But I like it.)
A little while ago I was contemplating on what to write about. I started with 0 ideas and before I realized my brain had gone a million miles a minute: with big brushes and paints and canvases and clay and I was already being awarded the Oscars (of the Blogosphere) and I was giving my thank-you speech and thanking my dog, my cat… In a nut shell my brain had gone in an over drive and I was doing what is referred to as day-dreaming.
We do this a lot and sometimes just get tired and chuck our brilliant idea all together (like a hot potato) because it’s too big to handle it.
What I am getting at is that my brain rushed ahead so quickly that my hands could barely keep up. I realized I had to slow down and take itty-bitty steps.
So I took a deep breath first. Then I gently pushed all those brilliant ideas that my brain had come up with in a matter of milli-seconds – and took out my sketch pad and my favorite Gello pen. Nope, you cannot eat it, it’s NOT jello!
On a side-note you have to try this Gello pen. It’s like the best-est pen ever in the entire universe!!!
I sketched…
And I sketched some more…
Aaahhh it felt so good! And then I was done. Or almost…
I then scanned in my sketches with a few mouse clicks, did some basic Photoshop editing and printed it out….Tadaaaaaa.
A little bit of pen knife, a little bit of ruler…
And then magic!
It’s my very own homemade handmade greeting card. I can’t wait to send it! Yayyyyy!
Imagine the joy on your loved one’s face when they receive a handmade card from you.
Money cannot buy a thoughtfully hand designed card! (food for thought)
Hope this helps you take your itty-bitty steps. Your brilliant idea is not so brilliant if stays within the confines of your own head.
Ok your turn now!
Go get a pen and a paper please. Yes, yes right now. It’s no fun doing this all on my own (insert sad face here). It’s ok if it’s not the Gello pen (but you have to get the Gello pen!). I want to see your work too.
Sign up and email me your masterpiece! Don’t forget to smile proudly and autograph your masterpiece before sending it along.
Comment below and let me know what was going through your mind as you held that Gello pen (or any other pen) to that piece of paper.
