Have you tote-ally been into anything???
I’ve been going through a tote phase. No, this is not where I buy totes. It is in fact where I paint them. I am #toteally loving it! (See what I did there.)
Side story: I’d bought these brand new set of gelatos. No, I’m not talking about ice-cream. It’s even better! It looks like a chap-stick, but it is actually a crayon and you can color using them. They are super cool. But more about that at a later time. I was experimenting with them on my new totes. For some reason it did NOT turn out well.
And when something does not look good, I fix it OR at least give it a college try. I couldn’t throw the tote away obviously. Duh!
So I did what all great artists do – I painted over it! Just kidding, I #toteally made that up (insert silly laugh here).
Anyways here’s the process of what I did. I used simple fabric paints and some tape as a masking tool.
This looked hideous after the black outlines so I had to fix this.
Masking it with tape and dumping colors on it was an easy solution to fix it.
I then doodled over it. It gives a cool look where you can see some of the older work show through the masking.
And now the transformation has been complete! Tadaaaaa…..

Until next time,
Very clever! And turned out great and unique. Curious about these gelatos: always on the look out for easier fabric painting options.
Thanks Jessi! Yes, I shall talk about gelatos soon! They are AWESOME!
